I was a slacker and didn't post yesterday. Forgive me, because I know how loyally you all follow the blog...

So here's the deal. If you've been absent at all this week, unfortunately I don't have the assignments to upload to the blog (they're in a ginormous pdf). Come and see me straight away to get Study Guide--Part II and the reading on the Spanish-American War that accompanies it.

We went over Study Guide--Part II today in class.

There was no homework today for E and F period.

I only saw B Period because of the half day!

In Class:
We delved into the topic of American Imperialism.We first asked ourselves, "What is imperialism?"
Then we took a look at some nifty documents giving some insight into what lay behind the imperial impulse...
We discussed the continuing influence of the American belief in "Manifest Destiny," discussed in the Document 1, but did not get to the rest of the documents yet. I know you will be hanging on the edge of your seat, in anticipation for the rest of our discussion Monday!

Homework:
Reading Packet, Beyond Manifest Destiny...Complete "Study Guide-Part I" which goes along with the reading. DUE MONDAY.

F Period-
Today, we delved into the topic of American Imperialism.
We first asked ourselves, "What is imperialism?"
Then we took a look at some nifty documents giving some insight into what lay behind the imperial impulse... We discussed the continuing influence of the American belief in "Manifest Destiny," Social-darwinist explanations of the superiority of the Anglo-Saxon race, and the economic push to find new markets for American goods.

Homework:
Reading Packet, Beyond Manifest Destiny...
Complete "Study Guide-Part I" which goes along with the reading. DUE MONDAY.

B Period-
You can end your panic attack, the essay test is over! Go home, be happy. No homework is due for tomorrow.
